Recognition that years of late nights, mixtapes, and refusing to wait for permission have finally broken through.
On a humid Saturday night in Bor, AJIZZ walked off the Jonglei Stars Awards stage holding the trophy for Best Uprising Artist of the Year — and for everyone at VictoryLab who has been in the trenches with him, the award felt less like a surprise and more like a punctuation mark.
This was the year of 'Teleport.' Of the wedding songs. Of the LOML re-issue. Of the Juba-to-Lagos pipeline finally clicking into place.
But awards aren't the goal. The goal is the next record. We're back in the studio next week.
