Inside the Making of 'LOML'

Three years on, AJIZZ's debut EP still defines the VLMG aesthetic. Here's the behind-the-scenes story.

Before the chart-toppers, before the awards, there was a six-track EP recorded mostly at night, mostly on borrowed time. 'LOML (Lucifer of My Life)' was AJIZZ's first real swing — and it landed.

The EP was sequenced like a confession: 'Angel' as the opener, 'Nurdu' as the gut-punch, 'Lucifer Of My Life' as the closer that re-frames everything you just heard. That sequencing instinct is what made us realize we weren't dealing with a singles artist. We were dealing with an album-maker.

'LOML' is also where the VLMG sound was first defined: melodic, literary, unafraid of vulnerability, and rhythmically loyal to home.
